Mary Jane was the wife of Harrison Hazen who died in the Civil War. They were parents of Harry Miles Hazen and grandparents of Ralph and John Hazen.
ReplyDeleteShe was born in Richland County, Ohio 1820. Parents' family names were Workman and White. She died in 1877 near McKay in what is now Ashland County, Ohio, buried next to daughter Lucretia McQuillin with whom she had lived during her last illness. Their graves are located near the left end of the back row of the "Old Synagogue Churchyard" on a hilltop east of Route 60 between Hayesville and McKay. Harrison's father Gurdon Hazen who died in 1825 is also buried there, but his headstone has been destroyed. All that remains to mark his grave is the sandstone foundation that held the headstone.
