Anybody know the story on this one?

John Hazen and Anna Terry, a young lady who might have been named Orva, and Al Hazen. Anybody know anything about this Orva? This picture was obviously taken too long ago to be OUR Orva.

From the Echelberger collection

John and Anna Hazen with probably their two oldest boys. Would that have been Harold and Glenn?

My pick for prettiest pic in the collection

Vera was the youngest of Harry and Malinda's five daughters. Here she is at about age 15 with her mother. This picture must have been popular in the family as there are many copies of it.

Floyd Hugo on an ostritch at Mission Cliffs Gardens in San Diego, CA while visiting his Aunt Iva and Uncle Jack Dimmer.

Heartbreaking in hindsight

Harry Hugo with his and Emma's beloved only child, Floyd who died from appendicitis while a student at Ohio State University.

Iva and Emma Hazen

Emma was the oldest and was wearing glasses in this picture. Iva was closest in age to Emm and they were always close, keeping in contact, even after Iva went to California with her husband. Their dresses are unusually flashy for Hazen girls. I wonder if they weren't for some very special occasion.

Grace and Mary Hazen

Malinda came from a family that believed in taking photos and she continued that practice with her family. There are studio portraits taken at several ages of all the children as well as many snapshots taken at family events. This is of the two next-to-youngest girls, obviously while they were both less than five years old -- Grace (left) and Mary.

Harry & Malinda Hazen in early middle age

In early photos, Malinda Hazen has a delicate beauty that family snapshots tended not to capture, especially in her later years. It does show in this and earlier studio portraits
